Heidi Klum dresses as a giant severed version of her own hand for Halloween 2026

Model and television host Heidi Klum marked Halloween 2026 by appearing as an oversized, severed replica of her own left hand, according to a Gray News report carried by Cleveland 19, 1011 Now, KWCH 12 and WIS with contributions from The Associated Press.

Klum unveiled the costume on social media late Saturday after posting hints throughout the day, the stations reported. Earlier Instagram posts showed bloodied prosthetics being applied to her face.

In the finished look, only her eyes and mouth were visible, according to the report. Fake blood ran from her mouth as she stuck out her tongue, and the top of the hand was designed to look like torn tendons and ligaments. She was accompanied by a group of helpers dressed in hazmat suits stained with fake blood.

The design copies details of Klum's actual left hand, Cleveland 19 and the other stations reported, including long red nails, a thumb ring, her engagement ring and wedding band, as well as her palm lines and veins. Klum said the concept came to her a year earlier when she looked at her hand and thought she might be able to fit her body inside a version of it.

She introduced the costume in a video that begins with her real fingers walking across a floor and midway switches to the costume, with her legs serving as two of the fingers, according to the report.

Klum said getting into the costume took roughly five to six hours, while building it took considerably longer. She described its weight as the biggest challenge. "Hands down, the hardest thing is carrying it," Klum said, as quoted by the Gray News report, adding that it is quite heavy.

Her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz, did not attend this year's celebration because he was on tour, the stations reported. The costume nonetheless includes a tattoo of his name on the ring finger. "A little bit of Tom is with me," Klum said, according to the report.

Klum is known for elaborate Halloween costumes. According to the Gray News report, she appeared last year as Medusa with moving snakes, and the year before as a female version of the movie character E.T., a costume that took a year to plan.
