Gunfire at a North Philadelphia residence wounded three people Wednesday morning, police said. The home sits on the 2800 block of North 20th Street, and most outlets reported that a 49-year-old woman hit 11 times was left in critical condition.

Reported times varied slightly. The Philadelphia Inquirer and FOX 29 placed the shooting shortly before 10 a.m., CBS Philadelphia said roughly 10 a.m., and 6abc Action News said about 9:30 a.m.

Each victim was brought to Temple University Hospital. Besides the 49-year-old, a man aged 29 suffered three bullet wounds to his leg, and a woman aged 27 was struck six times, according to police accounts cited by the outlets.

The outlets did not agree on which woman was more gravely hurt. The Inquirer, FOX 29 and 6abc listed the older woman as critical and described both the younger woman and the man as stable. CBS Philadelphia flipped the women's conditions, reporting the 27-year-old as critical and the 49-year-old as stable. FOX 29 added that the man was expected to recover.

According to CBS Philadelphia, nearly 24 rounds were fired, with shots coming from both within and outside the residence. 6abc reported police as saying that a shooter, and perhaps a second one, came up to the house and fired in both locations. FOX 29 said the three were wounded indoors.

The Inquirer reported that investigators had not named a suspect. CBS Philadelphia said the identity of whoever fired, and whether that person or people fled, remained unclear. FOX 29 said circumstances of the shooting had not been released.

Police blocked off much of the street, 6abc reported, adding that the department's Shooting Investigation Group has taken the case. Authorities are asking people with information to reach out to Philadelphia police, and tips may be left anonymously at 215-686-TIPS (8477), the station said.

The Inquirer also noted that the incident followed by less than 24 hours a fatal West Philadelphia shooting. Around 8 p.m. Tuesday, police were sent to the 500 block of Allison Street for reported shots and located a wounded man, the paper said. He died at Penn Presbyterian Hospital at roughly 8:30 p.m. Police have not released his name, nobody has been arrested, and homicide detectives are handling that investigation, according to the Inquirer.
