More than 1.5 million pounds of meat products, including hot dogs, bacon and deli meats, have been recalled because they may not have been kept at proper temperatures. Gray News stations WCAX, WOWT, Alaska's News Source and Dakota News Now reported the recall, citing the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The recall covers a wide range of processed items. Besides hot dogs, bacon and deli meat, the affected products include kielbasa, cocktail franks, bologna and chicken sausage, the outlets reported.

The products were sold under several brand names. According to the reports, those labels include Kayem, Specialty Products, Al Fresco, Triple M, McKenzie, Deutschmacher, Jordan's, Essem and Winnisimmet.

The recalled meats were produced over a span of more than six months, from March 31 through Oct. 7, Gray News reported.

The federal agency's concern centers on storage. Citing the Food Safety and Inspection Service, the reports said the products may have been held at the wrong temperature. The articles did not say where in the supply chain the storage problem may have occurred or how it was discovered.

No illnesses linked to eating the recalled products have been reported, according to the outlets. People who have eaten the items and are worried about their health are advised to contact a doctor.

Consumers who have any of the recalled products are told not to eat them. Instead, they should throw the items away or return them to the store where they were bought, the reports said.

The Gray News stations said a full list of the recalled items, along with photos of the products, has been made available so shoppers can check whether their purchases are affected.

The four stations carried the same report. It did not name a single company responsible for the recall, give the number of individual products involved or identify the states where the items were sold.
