President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance are spending this week on the road campaigning for Republican candidates, with control of Congress at stake in the Nov. 3 midterm elections, according to a Gray DC report carried by WCAX, WIS, Live 5 News and Dakota News Now.

The report said Trump plans to stop in a different state each day. He is scheduled to open the week with a Monday rally in Kansas, then travel to North Carolina, South Carolina, Iowa and Florida before the week ends.

According to the report, each stop is expected to feature a rally aimed at helping Republicans hold their majority in Congress. Trump's schedule focuses on key races around the country.

The president's travel is set to continue beyond this week. Gray DC reported that Trump is scheduled to campaign next weekend in Georgia and Michigan. The report described both as states where Democrats are focusing their efforts as they seek broad gains in this election.

Vance is running a separate schedule. The report said he plans to appear Monday in Hendersonville, North Carolina, and then travel to Nebraska on Thursday.

The campaign activity comes a little more than two weeks before Election Day, which falls on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Voters will decide which party controls Congress for the remainder of Trump's term.

Gray DC reported that recent polling shows Democrats with an advantage over Republicans in the race for a congressional majority. The report did not identify specific polls or provide figures.

A Democratic majority would present a setback for the White House as Trump heads into the last two years of his presidency, according to the report.

The four outlets published identical versions of the Gray DC report, and none included statements from the White House, the campaigns, or Democratic officials about the planned travel.

North Carolina appears on both the president's and the vice president's schedules this week, according to the report, making it the only state named as a stop for both men during the coming days.
