Election 2026: how to see who's funding the candidates on your ballot

By True News staff · Published October 05, 2026 · Reviewed by a human editor · 2 reader visits

With the general election on November 3, True News now lists everyone registered with the Federal Election Commission to run for the U.S. House or Senate in 2026, incumbents and challengers alike, along with the money each campaign has reported.

Pick your state at truenews.bagleyenterprises.net/candidates to see every congressional candidate, grouped by district, with three numbers for each campaign: how much it has raised, how much it has spent, and how much cash it had left at the end of its latest report. The figures come directly from reports the campaigns file with the FEC, the independent agency that enforces federal campaign finance law.

What the numbers mean

Raised is all the money a campaign received this election cycle, whether from individual donors, political action committees, party committees or the candidate's own pocket. Spent is what the campaign has paid out. Cash on hand is what it had in the bank on the last day covered by its most recent report.

Select Details next to any candidate to see each reporting period, including how much came from individuals, from PACs, from the party and from the candidate. A link on that page opens the candidate's official FEC record, where you can search individual donors.

What it does not show

Registering with the FEC does not put anyone on the ballot. Your county election office publishes the official ballot. Candidates for governor, the state legislature and local offices report to their state, not the FEC, so True News links each state's official campaign finance website on its candidates page.

Some candidates show no money reported. That usually means a campaign has registered but has not raised or spent enough to file detailed reports, or has not filed yet.

Who represents you now

The same section lists the 8,438 officials currently serving across all 50 states, DC and Puerto Rico, from U.S. senators to state legislators, with links to their funding where it is reported to the FEC.

True News has no political affiliation and endorses no party or candidate. We list every registered candidate, in order of district and money raised, exactly as the FEC reports them.
