VA Selects 48 Regional Sites for 2026 Veterans Day Observances
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the Veterans Day National Committee have selected 48 regional sites in 24 states as official partners to hold VA-approved Veterans Day observances this year, the department said.
According to VA, the sites include communities and nonprofit organizations. They range from cities such as Birmingham, Alabama; Phoenix, Arizona; Atlanta, Georgia; Baltimore, Maryland; St. Louis, Missouri; and El Paso and Austin, Texas, to smaller locations such as the Town of Dana, Indiana, and the Town of Lincoln, Montana.
Each selected site receives Veterans Day posters, military ceremonial support from the Department of War and a certificate from the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for its event, VA said.
The department said VA and the committee will co-host the 2026 National Veterans Day Observance on November 11 at Arlington National Cemetery. According to VA, the ceremony is open to the public and begins at 11 a.m. ET with the Presidential Wreath Laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It then continues in the Memorial Amphitheater with a parade of colors and remarks from dignitaries.
VA said it encourages communities and nonprofits to hold VA-approved observances in support of the national event and to honor veterans nationwide. Communities can apply to become regional sites for 2027, according to the department.
